Projects & Experience
Web Content Developer, Explore to Thrive (2024 — Present)
Explore to Thrive is my personal brand blog focused on guiding bloggers and online businesses thrive. Here are my tasks and noteworthy accomplishments made so far:
- Published 20+ long-form blog posts and articles that helped establish my brand through insights on human psychology, vulnerability, and authenticity, qualities that matter most in creating content in the age of AI.
- Created a 10-step pre-publish post checklist to maintain high quality in blog posts for my audience and clients. Each step is supported by an article that offers examples and additional checkpoints.
- Built solid experience using AI (writing prompts) to edit drafts, improve readability, and streamline tasks. Published a guide and a list of prompts to help make my articles and work more effective and efficient.
- Studied Google’s guide on writing helpful, reliable, and people-first content in depth. Published an article to help myself and my audience consistently produce top-quality content aligned with current standards.
- Completed extensive self-training on designing websites with WordPress Gutenberg, focusing on layouts that are unique, attention-grabbing, and highlight branding. Created 9 distinct designs featuring floating navigation, clear visual hierarchy, and other custom elements.
- Built the website from scratch using the Astra Theme and Gutenberg. Designed a detailed homepage, services page, contact page, and project pages, including an interactive blog post pre-publish checklist and a gallery of WordPress Gutenberg designs and layouts.
- Repurposed blog content for LinkedIn with the help of AI. Also handled formatting to make parts of each post easily shareable on social media, including vertical images optimized for Pinterest.
Founder & Content Creator: WanderInEurope — 2022–Present
WanderInEurope is a niche site project focused on European destinations, helping travelers explore the continent’s natural attractions, historic cities, and famous landmarks on a budget. Here are my achievements and work done:
- Published over 120 blog posts, strategically organized using topic clustering to boost user retention and search rankings. Ninety percent of the posts are well-researched long-form content, ranging from 2,000 to 7,000 words, providing readers with high-quality information.
- Grew the site to 200 daily visits and 300 page views from Google within the first 10 months using just 85 articles. Achieved this through white hat SEO techniques, keyword research, on-page optimization, interlinking, and building topical authority.
- Reached an average engagement time of 1 minute 50 seconds and a session duration of 4 minutes 7 seconds, both above the 75th percentile compared to similar sites in Google Analytics, by combining helpful content with clear layout design and effective content structure.
- Used Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Ubersuggest to identify new keywords, trends, and traffic opportunities. Also relied on these tools to plan content strategy before starting the main writing tasks.
- Generated thousands of dollars in affiliate commissions by writing effective copy and placing products strategically within the content. Applied reader intent and buyer psychology to boost click-through and conversion rates.
- Handled content migration from another blog (Engineering Travels) to increase search visibility and strengthen topical authority. Split long articles into shorter, focused pieces to improve readability and target a wider range of keywords.
- Gained extensive experience in research by gathering information and data from forums, digital archives, audio guides, videos, and documentaries to create original content that answers readers’ questions and sparks their curiosity.
- Used various tools in research to create more unique and helpful content, including Google Maps, Komoot, Rome2Rio, Street View, and Google Earth, ensuring accuracy and practical value for readers.
- Ran basic Pinterest campaigns using Canva to drive additional blog traffic. Reached 40,000 to 50,000 impressions and 400-500 monthly outbound clicks. Scheduled pins with a custom Python automation script.
Founder & Blogger: Engineering Travels — 2021–2022
Engineering Travels is a personal travel blog where I learned the fundamentals of content marketing and search engine optimization. Highlights include:
- Started the blog from scratch and published just 15 articles, which led to Google AdSense approval only two months after launch.
- Studied content marketing and blog building through Neil Patel’s free course and Income School’s YouTube videos. Applied the lessons by publishing over 110 articles, resulting in a 1900% increase in Google traffic within six months of emerging from the Google Sandbox.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Engineering Travels got accepted to Google Adsense just 2 months after launch. This is a significant achievement for a first-time blogger, as most applications take 4 to 6 months and several attempts to get approved. Approval was granted after meeting Google’s strict requirements, including fully original content, 15 well-crafted articles, a clean site structure, and smooth user navigation.

Also in Engineering Travels: Increased blog traffic by 1900% in just 6 months without using link building (just writing quality content and using white-hat SEO). Most of the content during that time were travel guides and detailed articles about different places in Asia & Europe. Each article targeted 2 or 3 keywords and was written to answer questions in the “People Also Ask” section on Google.

WanderInEurope hit an average session duration of 4 minutes. That’s longer than the 75th percentile for travel sites in the Travel Guides & Travelogues category, which is around 3 minutes. This shows that the articles on WanderInEurope are useful, well-organized, and well-planned. People stay on the site to keep reading or browsing. Notably, there were even days when the session duration was more than 2x the 75th percentile.

WanderInEurope also reached an average engagement time per active user of almost 2 minutes. That’s longer than the industry’s 75th percentile, which is 1 minute and 17 seconds. This shows that readers think the content on WanderInEurope is not just helpful, but also interesting and worth their time. Just like with the session duration, there were days when the engagement time was more than twice the 75th percentile. That’s a really great!

Newly published content on WanderInEurope starts ranking in just a couple of months. This is impressive, especially since it’s a small niche site and part of the group of web publishers that Google hasn’t favored since September 2023. The results come from solid research, engaging writing, and a blog layout that keeps people reading. That kind of reader experience seems to be something Google is putting more weight on now. For an example, check out this post about the 10 bucket list destinations in Southern Germany.

Earned thousands of dollars from affiliate marketing, even though display ads were the original plan for making money on the blogs/sites (Engineering Travels & WanderInEurope). The blogs are partnered with GetYourGuide for tours, tickets, and guides, and with Booking for hotels and places to stay. Besides the usual in-text links placed in key spots, the blogs also used different widgets to make the offers more engaging. I made sure that every affiliate link and widget provided value to readers and didn’t look like spam to keep the brand’s reputation solid.
