Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel: Why It’s Worth Staying If You Want the Views and Relaxation

Here’s my firsthand experience at Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel to help you know what to expect and decide whether it offers the comfort and relaxation you’re looking for.

Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel is where we stayed in Sa Pa during the last part of our trip to northern Vietnam.

We chose it because it matched our goal perfect fit.

At that point, we wanted the final part of our trip to be all about decompressing, but not paying for extra like for a spa. We also hoped for a relaxing day without missing Sa Pa’s stunning mountain scenery. This way, we could return home not only refreshed but also rejuvenated and ready to get back to the hustle.

Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel felt like an irresistible package.

But did we find it worth it? What was the highlight? I’ll get to them in a moment.

About Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel

But first, let me introduce the hotel to you.

It is a 4-star hotel, one of the best we found to offer a spectacular view of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. It features an infinity pool with a view, which was a scroll stopper in the photos when we searched for a place to stay. Travelers without a private vehicle, as we were, will find the location ideal. The town center is only a 5- to 10-minute walk away. Though, there are available free parking spaces.

Here are the services and amenities offered by the hotel:

  • For Typical Tourists. Infinity pool, Sauna, Gym, Billiards, Bar, Restaurant, Luggage Storage, Laundry Room, Karaoke, Wi-Fi.
  • With Extra Payment. Spa, Currency exchange, Childcare service, Conference room.

Our Experience in Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel

So, was staying at the hotel worth it?

Before that, let me be clear. I’m the kind of traveler who doesn’t fuss over little details in the places I stay. As long as it’s clean, the advertised amenities are available, it feels safe, and I can sleep with comfort, I’m fine.

Now, when it comes to our room, I’d say, it was great! Almost perfect.

The only issue was that the bathroom blinds were confusing to use. I couldn’t figure out how to use it.

To give you some context, our room had a bathroom with walls made of glass. It was see-through! The only thing that kept my privacy while sitting on the toilet or taking a bath was the blinds.

Here’s what happened.

I pulled one string and it raised a little, pulled another and it closed, then pulled another and it went up even more. I couldn’t get the blinds to lower all the way.

Anyhow, I managed to hard shut the blinds and I bathed with complete peace of mind. Although, a small gap remained at the bottom because they would not reach the floor.

All in all, I enjoyed our stay at Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel.

We achieved our goal during the visit. We left the hotel refreshed and renewed.

The infinity pool and the mountain views played a big part of our experience. The fresh mountain air. The view. The sound of the water splashing. I loved the vibes as I lay back on the pool’s sun lounger.

The bathroom blinds incident? I forgot about it as soon as my first dip, I guess! Haha!

To tell you the truth, before our trip to Sa Pa, I thought the highlight would be visiting Fansipan. But bad weather hit us at the summit.

So our time in the infinity pool at Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel ended up being the best part.

As we relaxed by the pool, we kind of looked back on our trip. We couldn’t say enough how good a decision it was to book Bamboo Sa Pa. Without it, our visit to Sa Pa might have been a disappointment.

Our hotel saved the day, I must say!

But even before we hit the pool, we already enjoyed a special treat. That morning, we had buffet breakfast by the pool.

The buffet offered a mix of Vietnamese and European dishes, which I loved. That includes fresh spring rolls, pho, spaghetti, scrambled eggs, and pastries.

I filled my plate with a little of everything. I had three rounds, actually!

I have to mention, that time, not only did my stomach feel satisfied, but my eyes did too! It soaked in the sweeping views of the Hoang Lien Son mountains from the alfresco seats.

The crisp morning air and the gentle splash of the pool made the moment perfect.

Will I Recommend Bamboo Sa Pa Hotel?

Now, the big question is, would I recommend it? A.B.S.O.L.U.T.E.L.Y! But only if you want to spend time relaxing like we did.

Here are some of the relaxing things to do in Sa Pa.

Are adventures more your thing? Do you prefer exploring over lounging at the hotel? There are plenty of other hotels in Sa Pa that could suit you better.

If you’re looking for a unique stay, there are options too. For example, Topas Ecolodge. It is a mountaintop resort with its own infinity pool. The resort is a cultural experience too. The only downside is that it’s far from the town center.

Either way, planning ahead is essential before your Sa Pa trip. This is especially true when choosing your dates and planning a visit to Fansipan. You don’t want to run into the kind of weather issues we did!
